How Bridgeway Mediation handles your information

About This Policy

Bridgeway Mediation provides independent and impartial interpersonal mediation services. The mediator facilitates constructive communication and helps participants explore possible solutions but does not provide legal advice, counselling or make decisions on behalf of either party.

Participation in mediation is voluntary. Each participant remains responsible for their own decisions and is encouraged to seek independent legal, financial or professional advice where appropriate.

Mediation discussions are treated as confidential, subject to the terms of the agreement to mediate. Confidentiality may be limited where there is a safeguarding concern, a risk of serious harm, suspected criminal activity or a legal obligation to disclose information.

Bridgeway Mediation provides interpersonal mediation and does not conduct court-required Family Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs), sign family court forms or provide regulated family mediation relating to divorce, finances or child arrangements. Only appropriately accredited family mediators can sign court forms confirming attendance at a MIAM.

Information provided on this website is for general information only and should not be treated as legal advice. Bridgeway Mediation may decide that mediation is unsuitable or should be ended where it cannot be conducted safely, fairly or effectively.

What Information I Collect

I may collect your name, contact details and relevant information about your dispute to assess and provide mediation services. All information is handled securely and confidentially and will be deleted once the mediation process is complete.

How I Use Your Information

I use your information only to respond to enquiries, assess whether mediation is suitable, arrange and provide mediation sessions, communicate with participants and maintain essential administrative records. Your information will not be used for marketing or shared with others unless you give consent or disclosure is required by law or for safeguarding purposes.

Complaints

If you have any concerns about how your personal information has been handled, please contact Bridgeway Mediation so the matter can be addressed. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in services, legal requirements or how personal information is handled. Any updates will be published on this website, with the date of the latest revision clearly shown.
